Eden Hazard has named Gael Kakuta as the best young talent he has ever played with, despite him having flopped at Chelsea.
FIFA punished Chelsea and the winger with a four-month ban after it was determined that the Premier League team had coerced him into breaching his contract in France.
That judgment was overturned by an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which decided that Kakuta’s contract with Lens was void.
Kakuta has mostly focused on his career in France since leaving Chelsea in 2015, which has caused many Premier League fans to lose track of him.
However, Hazard has now unexpectedly listed the former Chelsea misfit as one of the best players he played with. “I play with the best player in the world at Real Madrid.
When asked which of his former teammates had the greatest talent, Hazard responded, “For me, [Luka] Modric, [Karim] Benzema, they are top of the list,” on the Obi One Podcast. “The only person who made me say ‘wow’ was Gael Kakuta, but that was after I stopped playing for that young team in France.

Hazard and Kakuta came through their respective youth systems at Lille and Lens at around the same time. And the former Real Madrid star has pinpointed that period as the time he saw Kakuta’s talent, as he defended him for struggling in England.
“You know, I play I play against him a lot when because I used to play in Lille and he was playing in Lens. You know, it’s a derby, it’s the north of France,” Hazard added.
“He is the best player,” I said, stating that he excels in every game. When he left France for Chelsea, you know, he was sixteen years old.
