A piece of sad news has reached the shores of Ghana as a 39-year-old Ghanaian man, Adu Boakye, tragically lost his life in a random shooting incident in Canada, according to the local police.
The sad incident occurred at Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue, the Ghanaian was on the street to check out a usual job. However luck eluded him as a stray bullet hit him and he sustained gunshot wounds, and despite life-saving efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
In a statement, Detective Phillip Campbell revealed that Boakye and an unnamed 16-year-old boy were shot indiscriminately while waiting for a bus to their destination.
The police claimed that there is no concrete connection between the Ghanaian and the assailant, urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in apprehending the perpetrator involved in what is believed to be a gang attack.
After moving to Canada three months ago, Adu Boakye left behind four children in search of better opportunities.
