Nathan Bawuah, a 17-year-old Ghanaian teenager, was stabbed to death in Hackney, East London, by another 17-year-old.
This death stunningly comes after another Ghanaian, a father of four, was shot dead in Canada, also over the previous weekend.
Just before 23:00 GMT, the Metropolitan Police reported that they had found Nathan seriously injured on Hackney Road, close to the intersection with Cremer Street. He was beyond rescue, despite the best efforts of emergency personnel.
“My thoughts are with the family of the young person who has tragically lost his life,” Det Ch Supt James Conway said.
“They can rest assured that we will not give up on finding the person who committed this murder,” On Wednesday, a 17-year-old was arrested for stabbing Bawuah to death. “Nathan’s family has been informed and continues to receive support from specialist officers.”
He was charged with murder and hauled before the Stratford Magistrates Court.
According to a police statement released on Wednesday, “This (charge) relates to an incident that happened on Saturday, February 17, in Hackney Road, E2, where Nathan Bawuah, 17, was stabbed to death.
