President Nana Akuffo Addo yesterday read the State of the Nation address to Ghanaians to let them know what has been happening behind the scenes.
He discussed a variety of endeavors he is undertaking and necessary actions. He stated that the PTC Interchange, which has been tucked away for a few months, will be completed, and that will be significant to the people of Sekondi-Takoradi.
In his speech, President Akuffo Addo assured the people of Sekondi-Takoradi that the project will be completed as funding has been transferred onto the GOG budget. The president said,
“In the meantime, some of the priority projects have been transferred onto the GOG budget within the same fiscal space to ensure their completion. This will enable the Kumasi International Airport, which is some 98% complete, to be completed by May. Other projects like the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Maternity Block in Kumasi, the Takoradi Interchange.”
The Sino Hydro Construction company was awarded the construction of the three-tier interchange, but it has been on hold since January 2023 due to the IMF bailout that the Ghanaian government requested.
