The Black Queens of Ghana, were held to an exciting 3-3 draw in Ndola aiding the Copper Queens of Zambia to advance to the final qualifying round of the 2024 Olympic Games thanks to their narrow victory in the first leg, which they won a few days ago in Accra.
Like they did in Accra, the Copper Queens took the lead in the tenth minute through captain Barbara Banda, making the score 2-0 overall.
After a solid team build-up, Gifty Assifuah of the Black Queens scored twelve minutes later to tie the score at Ndola.
Racheal Kundananji, the most expensive female football player in the world right now, gave the home team a serious chance to tie the score, but Portia Boakye stopped her. With a 1-1 halftime score, it was over.
Evelyn Badu missed an opportunity for the Black Queens to score in the 54th minute after return from recess. After just one minute, Doris Boaduwaa scores again, giving Ghana the lead for the first time in the match.
After 61 minutes, Kabange Mupopo scored a goal that put the Zambians up 2-2 by going around goalie Victoria and smashing it into the net.
Three minutes later, Azumah Bugre, gave Ghana the lead once more, making the score 3–2.
It ended 3-3 after full time as captain Barbara Banda scored from a free kick with just seconds remaining on the clock to tie the score once more.
With a 4-3 aggregate victory, the Copper Queens of Zambia have advanced to the next qualifying round.
