Ghanaian celebrity executive chef Failatu Abdul Razak revealed yesterday that her attempt to break the record for the longest cooking marathon was a failure.
Ghanaians have not taken well to this news, suspecting that there is perhaps a covert plot against our fellow Ghanaians. This is especially true because Afua Asantewaa’s attempt was also eliminated on questionable grounds.
The reasons behind Chef Faila’s unsuccessful attempt, however, were revealed in a statement by well-known Ghanaian broadcaster Kafui Dey, who also served as the event coordinator for the GWR cook-a-thon.
Chef Faila broke the rest of the break’s rules, according to what he said.
The statement is as follows.
“The attempt, which captivated audiences worldwide, unfortunately, fell short of meeting the stringent guidelines set forth by Guinness World Records.
A statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt.“
There is debate among Ghanaians regarding whether they should continue to demand the price due to their frequent disqualifications.
