Richmond Lamptey of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has been adjudged player of the season for his contribution and exploitation in the Ghana Premier League.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been a phenomenon for Asante Kotoko and their main playmaker since the inception of the 23/24 season.
He was called up to the senior national team, the Blackstars, for the AFCON in Ivory Coast as a result of his play, which also earned him the Man of the Season award.
Following the acknowledgment, Lamptey stated the following:
It is a privilege and honor to be named Asante Kotoko Sporting Club player of the 2022–23 season by the Kum Apem supporters group of the club.
Also, I thank my coaches, teammates, and fabulous fans because it couldn’t have been possible without them. Am grateful to everyone and expect more from me.
Richmond Lamptey lost his father a couple of days ago after a short illness, and winning such an award will go a long way toward propelling him during his father’s funeral.
