Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame has talked about the motivation behind his collaboration with Kofi Kinaata on his most recent song, “Sika.”
Since the song’s release on March 4, 2024, many music fans have been curious as to why the Rap Dacta and the Fante Rap God collaborated on such a masterpiece, in addition to enjoying the collaboration’s synergy.
Okyeame Kwame says he has always wanted to work on a song with Kofi Kinaata because he is a creative person. Up until Kofi Kinaata came along and changed the story by winning Songwriter of the Year on three occasions, Kwame was the only person to have won the title twice at the Ghana Music Awards (GMA).
“I called him to record a song because I was curious about what was going through his mind. Throughout the recording process, I came to understand why he is such a talented writer—”the boy gets common sense period.” ” Very intelligent, very smart, he has learned the trick and the trade,” he said.
Further, Okyeame Kwame remarked that, given all of Kofi Kinaata’s exceptional creative qualities, this is a significant opportunity for him to collaborate on a song.
“Sika” wants to encourage people to accept life’s whims and persevere to make ends meet.
He said, “That is who I have become now; the majority of what I do is try to highlight triumphant and challenging moments, from poverty to riches.”
Kofi Kinaata’s free-flowing lyricism and Okyeame Kwame’s deftly composed Rhythmic African Poetry (RAP) with a melodic edge come together in the catchy song “Sika.”
Melancholy drill and highlife combine in “Sika”‘ song.
