The Black Stars of Ghana drew 2-2 with the cranes of Uganda in an international friendly at the Grande Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
The Black Stars started the game with a lot of intensity in the first half creating chances in an attempt to get a goal.
Eventually the Black Stars got the lead through Jerome Opoku.
A few minutes on, Asante Kotoko forward Steven Mukwala gave Uganda the equalizer from the spot to make the game 1-1.
The Black Stars of Ghana came back into the game to reclaim the lead on the 26th minute through a Jordan Ayew penalty kick bringing the scoreline to 2-1 in favour of the Black Stars. The game became more of an end to end action after the third goal however no goal was scored again until after half time.
In the second half, the intensity of the game dropped on the part of both sides with Ghana still having more of possession. Coach Otto Addo made substitions and introduced Mohammed Salisu, Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu and Forson Amankwah which changed the team’s system to a 3-4-3 formation.
Twelve minutes to the end of the game, Andre Ayew came on to replace Jordan Ayew to make a total of 5 substitutes for Ghana.
On the 81st minutes Uganda drew level (2-2) out of nowhere after Ghana’s goalkeeper Wolacott failed to clear a shot off the crossbar.
The game will then end in a 2-2 draw after no goal was scored again. Coach Otto Addo’s team will have to work on making their dominance in games count as they were the better side in terms of possession. The game proved to be a trial for the likes of Francis Abu and Ebenezer Annan highlighting Otto Addo’s decision to give youngsters a chance in the team.
