After scoring a hat-trick and providing an assist on Tuesday night in the English Championship for Leicester City over Southampton, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku claims that this performance was his finest of the season.
Issahaku has already contributed to 18 goals in the Championship for Leicester (6 goals and 12 assists), and with four points in front ahead of their title contenders, Leicester appears to be headed back to the Premier League next season.
Issahaku opened the score in the 25th minute and added two more in the second half to lead Leicester to a convincing 5-0 victory on Tuesday night at the King Power Stadium.
The young Ghanaian, who joined Leicester on loan from Sporting CP during the summer transfer window, achieved a significant milestone with this incredible hat-trick.
He became the first Ghanaian to score a hat trick in the English Championship.
In a post-match interview, Issahaku talked about his exciting performance and how happy he was with his attacking production. He named Leicester’s thumping of Southampton as his game of the season.
“I don’t think I can just tell you how I feel because it’s so amazing and I feel so happy. This is what we are here to do and we are just going to do more to get to where we want. I am so happy.”
“We have come a long way to lose what is in our hands…we will keep going till we get to where we want.” he added.
Issahaku now seems to have made a statement to Leicester to make his loan move permanent.
