Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu says local players ought to be included in Black Stars call ups in order to revive local football.
As a former Black Stars assistant coach, Konadu believes it’s time for local players to be given chances in the national team in order to improve the Ghana Premier League’s performance.
“I think the Ghana Football Association should allocate slots for our local players in the senior national team, the Black Stars, to enhance the performance of the Ghana Premier League,” he told Onua Fm.
The Black Stars’ head coach, Otto Addo, is anticipated to reveal his team shortly for the team’s 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and the Central African Republic (CAR), which take place next month and some players might be on the lookout for their names in the next squad.
On June 6, Ghana will play a match against Mali at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako. On June 10, Ghana will host CAR at the Baba Yara Stadium.
