Twitter underwent a formal rebranding approximately a year ago, but as of right now, the majority of its pages still have Twitter in their URL.
Elon Musk has now declared that the social network has finished migrating all of its core systems to X.com. This implies that it has finished assuming its new name and removing all references to the famous blue bird logo and Twitter.
The website has also edited its landing and log-in page with a note at the bottom that says, “Welcome to x.com! We are letting you know that we are changing our URL, but your privacy and data protection settings remain the same.” Subsequently, it directs users to its Privacy page, which now has x.com in its URL.
Over the past year, the company has been shedding its pre-Elon Musk identity little by little. It changed its official handle from @Twitter to @X and replaced the Twitter logo on its headquarters building.
Its apps changed from using the previous blue bird logo to the new X logo, while its website changed its favicons, which at first prompted security precautions in some browsers. Both Twitter Blue and Tweetdeck have changed names to XPro and X Premium, respectively.
The business has also been gradually moving its pages to x.com; the transition was done so slowly that there was a slight security risk because malicious actors might exploit the erratic URL to trick unsuspecting people.
Finally, it is time to bid farewell to one of the final components of a website that helped create the social media landscape as the company moves to its new URL.
