Ghana’s U-17 team the Black Starlets secured a 2-0 win over their counterparts from Benin in their WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.
The game which was played at the University Of Ghana Stadium saw Ghana advance to the semi-finals of the competition.The Black Starlets dominated the game and created a lot of chances. The Ghanaian team scored the opener on the 19th minute through Mark Mensah.
The Starlets doubled their lead after Benin lost possession in the 22nd minute.
Despite some chances created by the Benin team, Ghana’s goalkeeper was able to keep a cleansheet.
Ghana finished group A on top of the table with 6 points from 2 games.
The Black Starlets are looking forward to reaching the finals so as to book an automatic place in the U-17 AFCON.
The team is now waiting to see which team they will face in the semis.
