According to Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Ghana’s National Chief Imam, Muslims will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha this year on Sunday, June 16.
This is stated in a press release that the National Chief Imam’s representative, Alhaji Awaisu Salisu, issued and signed. The nation’s Muslims, the public, and all regional chief Imams are urged to mark the festival date.
“On behalf of his Eminence the National Chief Imam, Ghana in conjunction with the Ameer and Missionary In-charge Ahmediya Muslim Mission, the National Imam Ahlusunnah Wal-Jamah, The National Imam of Shi’a, the President Tijaniya Muslim Movement of Ghana, the President Ghana Muslim Mission and other stakeholders, I wish to inform you that the 2024 Eid-ul-Adha Celebration comes off on Sunday, June 16, 2024, in Ghana.
“All Regional Chief Imams and the general public are to take note,” the press release indicated.
Monday, June 17, will be honoured as a public holiday in observance of the Eid-ul Adha which is set for Sunday, June 16.
