Ghana Premier League side Deams Football Club has filed a protest against Real Tamale United for fielding unregistered players during their 8-1 thrashing.
It all began when the RTU players decided to skip the game due to over six months’ worth of unpaid salary.
As a result, Chief Executive Zakaria Safianu decided to field inexperienced and unregistered players, which is why Dreams FC crushed RTU 8-1 on Wednesday at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu.
The RTU Chief Executive, Zakaria Safianu, reportedly recruited players from Division Two sides Galaxy FC and another unidentified team.
The player credited with RTU’s lone goal, Lord Adabo, allegedly did not even make the trip to Dawu, which further escalated the controversy.
Following an array of controversies, Dreams FC has released a statement requesting that RTU be protested. Read the statement below.
