Martin King Arthur, better known as Kofi Kinaata, has expressed gratitude to those who supported his music career. However, he clarified that none of them discovered him.
Kinaata addressed the perception held by many music fans that his rise to stardom was primarily due to him being discovered by industry giants like Castro, Samini, and Dr. Pounds.
The “Effiakuma Love” hitmaker emphasized that he was already making music before he met them and that they did not discover him.
Speaking on Akoma FM’s Entertainment 360 on Saturday, Kinaata clarified that the concept of “discovery” is often overused or overemphasized. He explained that discovering someone involves unearthing raw potential and helping that individual realize their talent, which is what he considers true discovery.
Kinaata expressed gratitude to the individuals who have contributed to his music career, acknowledging that they have helped him reach a high level of success. However, he stressed that he does not owe his talent or career to them.
He recounted that when he met Dr. Pounds in Takoradi, he had already been participating in and winning rap competitions, demonstrating his musical abilities long before their encounter.
