Asamoah Gyan, the Ghanaian football icon and former Black Stars striker, has responded to the growing clamor for him to lead the National Team.
While Gyan possesses a UEFA B coaching license and is eager to coach the Black Stars in the future, he emphasizes the importance of progressing through the coaching ranks.
The 39-year-old recognizes that the national team Black Stars is currently under the direction of his former teammate and fellow player, Otto Addo.
He emphasized that coaching, like football itself, is a process that requires experience gained through climbing the coaching ladder.
“I have secured my coaching license so anytime I want to venture into coaching, definitely I will do that,” Gyan said.
“I have heard people advocating for me to take up the Black Stars coaching job.
“For me, it’s a good thing and a great honor but in situations like this, we have to face the fact, [but] what experience do you have in coaching?” he asked.[Experience also counts.”
Gyan holds the record for scoring the most goals for the Ghana national team, having netted an impressive 51 goals throughout his career.
