Olympique Lyonnais has officially announced the permanent signing of 20-year-old Ernest Nuamah from Molenbeek.
The Ghanaian forward spent last season on loan with Les Gones, following Molenbeek’s €25 million purchase of Nuamah from Nordsjælland.
The permanent transfer is reported to cost OL around €28.5 million. Nuamah’s loan move last season was met with skepticism from Lyon fans due to the club’s transfer restrictions.
However, Molenbeek broke their transfer record to sign Nuamah, despite him never playing a game for the Belgian club.
A release clause was included in the loan agreement, which has now been activated, allowing Lyon, no longer facing transfer limitations, to complete the signing.
Nuamah has signed a contract to keep him at the Groupama Stadium until 2028.
