Dr KK Sarpong says the property was between 18 to 21 buildings in a gated community and not 6 blocks as stated in the memo.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) bought a property worth $7.5 million .
Notwithstanding his past connection with the transport body, Dr Kofi Koduah Sarpong stated that the relationship did not influence the agreement and acquisition of the multi million dollar property in a gated community at Chapel Hill in the Western Regional Capital, Takoradi.
“I had been connected to Global Haulage, bur I must tell you that the transaction is above board, all valuation reports by relevant agencies went through the board of directors sub committee on properties looked at and recommended it suitably to the board”.
Dr Sarpong revealed this on Tuesday, during Joy FM’s Super Morning show.
The transaction which was closed in December 2017 has spawn a quarrel following a remark from Dr Sarpong charging the GNPC finance officer to urgently transfer a total sum of $7.5 million to Global Haulage, the company he once worked for as payment for the said property.
