A group of enterprising tourism marketing students of the University of Media, Arts, and Communication, christened the Roam Rovers, embarked on a thrilling eco-tourism adventure to the majestic Afadjato and Tagbo Falls on Saturday 10th August 2024.
The tour, sponsored by Twisco and Top Choco, also received investments from the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture and member of Parliament for the Sekondi Constituency Honourable Andrew Agyapa Mercer and Dr. Nana Agyeman Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of Dr. Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party, aimed to promote domestic tourism while fostering environmental sustainability.
The expedition was more than just a leisure trip; it was a purposeful journey to explore the natural beauty of Ghana and to raise awareness about environmental conservation. Participants were treated to breathtaking mountain hikes that offered panoramic views of the lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls. The opportunity to immerse themselves in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, proved to be a rejuvenating experience.
Beyond the physical exhilaration, the tour provided participants with a deeper appreciation for Ghana’s rich biodiversity. The opportunity to witness the pristine beauty of Afadjato and Tagbo Falls firsthand ignited a passion for environmental protection among the adventurers.
The experience underscored the importance of sustainable tourism practices in preserving such natural treasures for future generations.
By choosing to support this initiative, the sponsors demonstrated a commitment to promoting domestic tourism and environmental stewardship. Their involvement was instrumental in ensuring the success of the tour and in highlighting the potential of Ghana’s natural attractions as world-class tourist destinations.
The RoamRovers have consequently expressed their gratitude to clients and partners whose support was invaluable to their mission to embark on a tour of learning, adventure and environmental sustainability.
