Club Owners Association in the Western region are to organize a maiden football tournament for colts, women’s teams and division 3 clubs in the region.
The tournament will be played in all four zones in the Western region precisely the STMA Zone, Nzema Zone, Wassa Zone and Sefwi Wiawso Zone with the champions of the various zones to compete for the major accolade.
This laudable idea is to keep players in the region active as football activities in the country has been put on hold.
However, www.kyfilla.com understands that players will be selected during the tournament by a technical committee to form Western region select side which will engage in friendly matches with some premier league and national teams.
Also the leaders of the association have set Thursday 6th September, 2018 as the deadline date for interested clubs to file for registration.
The idea was officially communicated to the media during the association’s meeting today 30th August, 2018 at the Sekondi Gyendu Park.
