Ghanaian international Alidu Seidu was named in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifications Team of the Week for Round 3 after Ghana’s last match against Sudan finished in a 0-0 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Alidu Seidu who plays for Stade Rennais was selected by Coach Otto Addo to play as a right-back.
In the AFCON Qualifiers Round 3 team of the week, he was selected for a three-man defensive setup with Ugandans Lwaliwa and Mugabi.
In his outstanding performance against Sudan, Alidu Seidu won six ground duels, made three interceptions, completed three crucial passes, four dribbles, and seven long balls. He was also fouled twice.
Eight (8) teams make up the Sofascore-announced team, with Morocco leading with three players, Uganda coming in second with two, and Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gambia, South Africa, Ghana, and Sudan rounding out with one player apiece.
