Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has made a controversial remark during his latest campaign trip to Yendi, where he met the Overlord of Dagbon.
During his speech, NAPO highlighted the importance of Muslims to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who is a Muslim instead of John Mahama NDC presidential candidate who is not a Muslim.
NAPO made his intentions clear, saying, “If you are a Muslim and you vote for the NDC, it is a haram.” He further added, “If you are an Imam and you pray for Mahama to win instead of Bawumia, it is also a haram.”
He also said NDC only uses Muslims when it comes to vote but not beneficial developments. He said,
“The NDC only uses Muslims and Northerners for votes; they don’t truly work to uplift their communities.”
Ghanaians will vote to elect a new president on December 7, 2024.
