US President-elect Donald Trump has picked billionaire Elon Musk to lead a newly created Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) for incoming Trump administration.
Trump also announced that Vivek Ramaswamy, who is a biotech investor, will work with SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk.
Musk and Ramaswamy will provide advice to the White House on how to “drive large scale structural reform”.
After the announcement on Tuesday, Trump said the Doge initiative will propel his administration “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies”.
