Ghanaian football has been plunged into mourning following the sudden death of legendary midfielder and coach, Michael Osei. The news of his passing was confirmed earlier today.
Osei, a former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars player, was a pivotal figure in Ghanaian football.
In recent years, he had transitioned into coaching, taking charge of various clubs, including Asante Kotoko and New Edubiase United.
Osei, who played with the Porcupine Warriors before becoming their coach, reportedly died in London after being brought to the hospital with chest pains.
Many people who know him are shocked by his death. The former midfielder had a great coaching career, leading Bibiani Gold Stars to an outstanding fifth place finish in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League.
He also worked as an assistant coach for Ghana’s under-23 national team, the Black Meteors.
