The NDC parliamentary for North Tongu constituency Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa has reiterated his desire for the newly elected president, John Manama to scrap all the taxes introduced by the NPP government.
Most of the Ghanaians voted the New Patriotic Party out of power because of high cost of living and numerous taxes ushered by the them. This resulted in one of the heavy defeat suffered by a political party in Ghana.
During an interview, Mr Ablakwa disclosed that the NDC government will remove all the taxes introduced by the NPP government to burden Ghanaians. He said the NDC are majority enough in the parliament to scrap all those taxes. He said,
“I can say confidently that with the majority that we have in parliament, Covid-19 levy will go, betting tax will go, emissions levy will go, e-levy will go.”
John Dramani Manama will be sworn in as the president of Ghana on the 7 January, 2025.
