The Omanhene of Upper Dixcove Traditional area, Obrempong Nana Hima Dekyi XIV has appealed to the Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, Dr.Kwame Baah Nuako to save his community from playing football on dusty pitches by constructing artificial pitch for them.
The social investment arm of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, GNPC Foundation as part of its responsibilities are constructing artificial pitches across the length and breadth of the country to improve the sporting business.
On this reason, the Omanhene of Upper Dixcove believes the construction of an ultramodern artificial pitch in the community will reduce the rate of crime waves and also bring out talent of some youth in the community.
“I will plead with GNPC Foundation to construct an artificial pitch for us since you have started constructing some in other communities.
“Some of the youth have great talent in football and playing on this dusty pitches will not help so please consider my humble appeal”
He said this during the celebration of the 2018 Kundum festival on last Saturday 1st September, 2018 which was under the theme “Dixcove Nkoso” {Development in Dixcove}.
