The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed the resumption of the Ghana Premier League, with Matchday 23 set to take place from Friday, March 7, to Monday, March 10, 2025.
The return of league action, however, is subject to safety and security assurance inspections of all match venues, currently being conducted by the GFA and the Ministry for Sports and Recreation.
Following the training of stakeholders on the newly introduced Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols 2025, which was primarily developed in collaboration with clubs, the GFA has given the green light for the league’s continuation after extensive consultations with all relevant stakeholders.
Additionally, the GFA has released new dates for the outstanding fixtures from Matchdays 20, 21, and 22:
Matchday 20: Tuesday, March 18 Thursday, March 20
Matchday 21: Tuesday, April 1 – Thursday, April 3
Matchday 22: Tuesday, April 15 Thursday, April 17
Meanwhile, an outstanding MTN FA Cup fixture between Asante Kotoko and Sekondi Eleven Wise has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The GFA urges full cooperation from all stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service, to ensure safety and security at all match venues as the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League season resumes.
