Coach Yaw Preko is full of confidence ahead of Ghana’s Black Starlets qualifiers at the WAFU Zone B U-17 tournament which also serves as qualifiers to the 2019 AFCON U-17.
The Black Starlets left Ghana to Niger earlier today to compete in the first of its kind WAFU Zone B tournament.
According the team’s deputy Coach, Yaw Preko, the opponents Ghana will be playing against pose little threat to his side’s ambitions and believes Ghana will make it out of the group.
Yaw Preko told the media that he is very confident of progressing to the semifinal of the tournament and making it to the 2019 AFCON.
“I don’t see any of them being a threat to us because they have a similarity in terms of ball possession, movement, the same tactics, in the final third they struggle, they can play in the middle but they struggle in the final third,” Yaw Preko confidently said.
“From what I’ve seen, they are not a threat to us at all. If our boys come to the party, I know what they are capable of doing. If they come into the game very well, we will kill any of them.”
The Black Starlets are already in Niger to take on three other countries in WAFU Zone B to determine who makes it out of the group to the U-17 AFCON in Niger next year.
