Ghanaian international and Olympique Lyon forward, Ernest Nuamah, is set to be out of action for at least four months following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture sustained over the weekend.
The news comes as a significant blow to both club and country, as the 21-year-old was in fine form for Lyon in the French Ligue 1.
Nuamah, a rising star in Ghana’s national team setup, has become a key player for Lyon since joining the French side. Known for his blistering pace, creativity, and finishing ability, his absence is expected to impact Lyon’s attacking options in the crucial final stages of the season.
The injury also poses a setback for his club with Nuamah now ruled out until at least August, his coach may need to revise his plans for upcoming qualifiers and international friendlies.
Lyon’s medical team is reportedly working closely with specialists to ensure a successful rehabilitation process.
