Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team capped a remarkable campaign by defeating Uganda 2-1 to win the 2025 African Schools Football Championship (ASFC) girls’ division.
Nicknamed the Black Damsels, the team booked their place in the final with a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending champions South Africa. They followed up that impressive performance with another determined display, edging out Uganda to lift the continental trophy.
Despite heavy rains threatening to disrupt the final at the University of Ghana Stadium, the Black Damsels remained composed and relentless, securing a hard-fought 2-1 win under the leadership of head coach Joyce Boatey-Agyei.
As champions, Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team will receive a $300,000 cash prize. The runners-up will take home $200,000, while the third-placed teams in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions will be awarded $150,000 each.
