Host of Adom TV’s Morning Talk Show, Nana Yaa Brefo, has revealed that popular kumawood actress, Rosemary Boateng, known in the showbiz world as Kyeiwaa now washes bowls and sells food in the USA.
Nana Yaa Brefo made this revelation while speaking to kumawood actor, Papa Kumasi on the Badwam show.
The host made this disclosure when the two were discussing the poor financial state of the movie industry in Kumasi and the quality of their movies.
Using Kyeiwaa as a reference to buttress her point that the Kumawood industry is suffering from financial constraints, the outspoken host shockingly revealed how Kyeiwaa now sells local food and washes plates for survival in the United States.
“If your industry is well and kumawood stars are well paid, why would Kyeiwaa relocates to the US, where she now sells food and clean dishes for survival,” she quizzed Papa Kumasi.
Asembi.com few months ago ran a story on Ghanaian celebrities who dumped their talents all in the name of staying abroad. Kyeiwaa mad the list and this news comes to us as no surprise.
Papa Kumasi however denied having knowledge of the allegation and said he had no idea that’s what Kyeiwaa was doing for a living in the USA and cannot take Nana Yaa’s allegations to be the truth.
Kyeiwaa, once regarded as the most talented and popular actress in Ghana relocated to the USA a couple of years ago, leaving behind her acting career and fame. Since then, very little has been seen of her with regards to the movie industry.
The runaway of key players in the various sectors of the entertainment industry collapse the sector. These celebrities return years later after acquiring green cards or resident permits only to come and blame Ghanaians and the government for collapsing the industry.
Stand-up comedy, staged plays and the likes were very patronised in Ghana until Nkomode and Okala decided to seek for greener pastures abroad.
Thanks to the likes of Patience Nyarko, Joyce Blessing and Joe Mettle who stood in for gospel music after the likes of Kwaku Gyasi, Ama Boahemaa, CEE, and Stella Dugan traveled abroad for resident permits.
While Ama Boahemaa returned with a bleached skin, Kwaku Gyasi and CEE are struggling to pick up from where they left.
