The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) has completed the technical handing over of 2 new 6-unit classroom blocks for Tawheed J.A Kufuor Senior High School in the Ashanti Region.
At a short ceremony to hand over the keys to the facility, Mr. Akwasi Owusu Kyei, who led the team from the GNPC Foundation, said GNPC’s commitment to education in Ghana is made manifest by the Corporation’s investment in several educational infrastructure projects across the country. He entreated the school to ensure proper maintenance.[ads2]
The team, together with the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, the Metropolitan Coordinating Director of KMA, Mr. Kwadwo Akuamoah Boateng, and the Headmaster of the school, Mr. Frimpong Boateng were taken on a guided inspection of the facility by the representative of the project consultant, Louis Sachumo Ansah.
The K.M.A boss on behalf of the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former president John Agyekum Kufuor, and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, expressed his profound gratitude to GNPC and its Chief Executive, Dr. Kofi Koduah Sarpong, for the contribution to the infrastructural development of the school, named after the former president, His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor.[ads3]
He also requested that GNPC Foundation extended its sports infrastructure development to the school, with the construction of an Astroturf facility. This, he said, would help nurture talented students and youth in the community.
The Headmaster of the School, Mr. Frimpong Boateng, thanked the GNPC Foundation for the support and assured that the project would be maintained to serve its purpose for many years.
