Dreams FC Coach Abdul Karim Zito says 17-year-old Abdul Aziz Issah deserves a spot in the Black Stars given his performances this season.
With the Still Believe boys, making waves in their first CAF Confederations Cup campaign, the young player is having an incredible season.
Issah, who will turn eighteen in November, has made a significant impact on Dreams FC as they advance to the competition’s quarterfinals.
After their decisive victory over Stade Malien on the road in Bamako last Sunday, the Still Believe boys are just one win away from the semifinals.
The 17-year-old was crucial to the Black Satellites’ in their victory in the Africa Games Men’s Football competition when they claimed the ultimate.
Given Aziz Issah’s performances this season, Karim Zito declared in an interview with the media Abdul Aziz Issah has enough quality to play for the Black Stars.
“I will say without doubt that he (Abdul Aziz Issah) is ready for the Black Stars. He is quality and has what it takes to play for the Black Stars. Abedi Pele was around same age when he was brought to Aburi to join the Black Stars squad. Today we can’t talk about Ghanaian, African and world football without mentioning his name.Aziz has done far more than what Abedi did when he was called up into the national team. He is playing in the Ghana Premier League, Confederation Cup and won gold at the All Africa Games. It can’t get any better than that.”
“Coaches now plan and plot around Aziz when Dreams are playing. That should tell you his immense quality. If I were the coach of the Black Stars, I won’t hesitate to call him and give him a chance.” he added emphasizing the player’s quality.
Issah’s daring performance throughout the current campaign has drawn attention from a number of clubs and per rumours some are tabling offers for the youngster.
Abdul Aziz Issah has the Most goals + assists (6), Most goals (4), Joint-most assists (2) in the CAF Confederations Cup this season.
