Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has indicated that, the absence of forward Abdul Fatau Shafiu for Black Stars duties won’t have any negative effect on his outfit.
The Porcupine Warriors will battle in their remaining NC Special Competition matches without the services of the in-form goal poacher due to his inclusion in the Black Stars provisional squad for PRE-AFCON camping in the United Arab Emirates on June 1, 2019.
Akonnor believes his outfit can cope very well when the current topscorer of the team in the NC Special Competition, Abdul Fatau Shafiu departs for the Black Stars pre-AFCON camping.
“Fatau absence won’t cost us, am praying he won’t be excluded from the final squad for him to be able to help the Black Stars win the AFCON in Egypt”, Akonnor told Light FM.
Abdul Fatau has scored seven goals for the Kumasi based side in the on-going NC Special Competition topping it up with a dazzling of performances which convinced Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah to include him in the 29 man list for the camping.
Meanwhile, the first-choice shot stopper of the Porcupines, Felix Annan has also been included in the provisional squad and he’s likely to make the final cut devoid of injury.
