Ghana’s swimming representative, Abeiku Jackson, captured his second medal of the African Games on Tuesday morning, taking home a bronze in the men’s 100-meter butterfly final, which took place at the Aquatic Center of the Borteyman Sports Complex.
Abeiku, 24, finished the race in 53.80 seconds, trailing only Eaton Jarden of South Africa (53.45 seconds), who took home silver, and Nasr Abdalla of Egypt (53.29 seconds), who took home gold.
It will be recalled that he won Ghana’s first medal in swimming at the African Games last Sunday in the men’s 50-metre butterfly race.
After receiving his early career training from his father, he is currently under the guidance of Russian Pavel Kutashev.
Jackson competed in the Olympics in 2016 and the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and 2020, and he is looking forward to clinching more medals for Ghana.
