Skipper Ampem Dacosta has added his voice to the growing speculation that the management of Karela United Football Club has heeded to a change of venue for the final game of the Normalization Committee’s Special Tournament Tier 1 against Asante Kotoko from Accra Sports Stadium to Baba Yara Stadium.
According to Ampem Dacosta management has not communicated any change of venue to them and what the players are aware of is the Accra Sports Stadium.
Confirmed comments from Eric Alagidede, a management member of Karela United FC has revealed plans to switch venue due to the high tendency of raking in much from entrance fees.
“We are changing the venue because we spent almost ยข11,000.00 on our game against Ashantigold SC in the semifinals” – Eric Alagidede told Connect FM.
The subject inspired some uproar from the support base of the club, on Tuesday, June 18 the support base of the club agitated against the decision of the club’s management despite the issue not being confirmed by the competition organizers.
On Wednesday, June 19, Ampem Dacosta, the skipper of the Karela United FC revealed leadership of Karela United has not communicated to them[players] any changes with regards to the venue for the game.
“We haven’t heard from management of any change of venue, we know of Accra Sports Stadium and that’s what we know” – Ampem Dacosta told Connect FM.
The game is set for Sunday, June 23 as officially known to the public.
