Popular sportscaster, Joseph Oti-Asrifi Mensah has made a pre-eminent donation to the Ghana Women’s Deaf team at their base in Bechem on Friday, August 29, 2021.
This is when the sportscaster who is a disability advocate visited the team to familiarize himself with their camp conditions.
He donated 10 bags of sachet water, 5 crates of eggs, a football, and an undisclosed amount of money to the team.[ads2]
The team is dominated by students of Bechem School for the Deaf, and they are currently camped at the school dormitory
They are 24 in number with three officials. They have three balls and 10 improvised cones for training. They are fed by the headmistress of the school on humanitarian grounds.
The team is currently preparing for African Deaflympics in Kenya later this year which is also a qualification for World Deaflympics in Brazil 2022.[ads3]
Mr. Oti-Asrifi Mensah Joseph is a Chattered Administrator and a member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Administrators and Management Consultants.
He has also served on numerous Committees and Boards at the Takoradi Technical University including Academic Board, Convocation Board, Disability Policy Committee, Strategic Plan Committee etc.[ads4]
He is the winner of the maiden Vice Chancellor’s Award in 2018 and also hold MA Development Management & MBA HRM.
Mr. Mensah is also a broadcast journalist with over twenty years of experience, having worked with radio stations such as Skyy Power FM, Spice FM and Radio 360 all in Takoradi of the Western Region and currently, the General Secretary of the Western Regional branch of the Sports Writer’s Association of Ghana (SWAG).[ads5]
