Ghana’s Black Stars faced a tough setback, losing 2-0 to Sudan in their fourth game of the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.
This follows a disappointing run that included a 1-0 loss to Angola, a 1-1 draw with Niger, and a goalless draw with Sudan at home.
In their fourth game, the Black Stars needed a win to stand a chance f qualifying for next AFCON which will be played in Morocco in 2025 however, their hopes have been dashed after Sudan stole the show and took a 2-0 lead against Ghana in two minutes in the second half.
The first half saw both sides creating chances with the aim of scoring however all attempts from both sides proved futile.
The defining moment of the game came when Sudan’s Ahmed Al-Tash scored the opener for Sudan in the 62nd minute. The opener game the technically home side the moment to score once again on the 65th minute.
Ghana’s performance on the other hand was very poor as they failed to register a single shot on target.
Sudan’s 2-0 victory leaves Ghana on the verge of elimination.
The team’s struggles highlight challenges in both defense and attack, raising concerns about their qualification prospects moving forward.
