Head coach for the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has dropped eleven players from camp ahead of Gabon clash on March 23, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Eleven players were asked to go home with only ten remaining at camp awaiting for the arrival of another eleven foreign based players to argument the squad for the first qualifying game which serve as road to 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
It’s reported that Dreams FC left back Montari Kamaheni alongside Elvis Kyei Baffour of Liberty Professionals and former Karela United reliable defender, Moro Ibrahim were nowhere to be found in the remaining ten in camp.
Hearts of Oak duo William Denkyi and Richmond Ayi as well as Asante Kotoko enterprising goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim were among the remaining ten.
The remaining players in camp are Kwame Baah, Richmond Ayi, Maxwell Arthur, William Denkyi, Emmanuel Cudjoe, Fuseini Zakaria, Issah Yakubu, Zibo Simon, Prosper Ahiabu, Braimah Mohammed, Richmond Danso, Daniel Lomotey and Danlad Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, Schalke 04 loanee Bernard Terkpetey, Czech based Benjamin Tetteh and Belgium based Joseph Paintsil are among the eleven foreign based players expected in camp.
The Black Meteors have been preparing for the past three weeks ahead of the clash with Gabon on Saturday in the U23 AFCON qualifier.
Ghana beat Togo in the first round of the qualifier by 5-2 on aggregate to set up a date with Gabon who had a walk over in their first round of the qualifier.
