Emmanuel Yeboah’s first half strike was not enough to secure a qualification after the Guineans responded in the second half to end the game 1-1.
The Black Meteors needed a win to book a place in the next stage of the competition having beating Congo 3-2 in the first game and lost 5-1 against host, Morocco.

The Guineans therefore advanced based on superior goal advantage with both nations ending the group stage on four points.
The result therefore meant Ghana finished the group as third place and therefore missed out on the two slots available for qualification.
It stretches Ghana’s absence at the World Olympics games to 20 years having last appeared in Athens 2004.
Head Coach Ibrahim Tanko has failed for the second consecutive time to qualify the team to the Olympics games having last done so in 2019 in Egypt.
