Ranking member of the Parliamentary Select Committee of Youth, Sports & Culture has revealed the Black Meteors were fixated on money reason for the abysmal performance at the African Cup of Nations U23 Championship.
Ghana performed woefully exiting the group stage which had Morocco, Guinea and Congo.
The Coach Ibrahim Tanko led team secured four points from a win against Congo, shared the spoils against Guinea and lost heavily to Morocco.

In a review of the whole collosal failure of the team, Komla Woyome who was in Morocco alongside the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Evans Bobbie Opoku was shattered and criticized the team for overly concentrating on money.

“Black Meteors players were after money and not commited. The technical team led by the head coach were a bit lazy in executing their professional work” – He told 3Sports.
Ghana’s football team last competed at the Olympics games in Athens 2004, and missing out this time means the team has now gone 20 years without appearing at the tournament.
