The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto has reportedly decided to resign from his office.[ads2]
According to multiple reports, the ace politician want to step down from his position as Minister to concentrate on his ambition of contesting the flagbearership position of the New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 elections.
Dr Afriyie Akoto has reportedly begun the process of relinquishing his position in the Akufo-Addo-led government and likely to submit his resignation letter to the President in the coming days.[ads3]
He will become the second sector minister in the current government to resign from his position after Alan Kyerematen who vacated office as the Trade and Industry Minister.
Otherwise known as Alan Cash, Mr Kyerematen resigned from his position to concentrate on his campaign to become the flagbearer of the NPP.
