The chieftaincy dispute in Dixcove at the Ahanta West district is likely to end following a call from one of the chiefs.
The town located approximately 35km west of regional capital Sekondi-Takoradi is divided into lower and Upper Dixcove with both having their own chief due to a protracted chieftaincy disputes.
But the disputes might end following a call from the Omanhene of Upper Dixcove, Obrempong Nana Hima Dekyi XIV to ‘smoke the peace pipe’ with Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX of lower Dixcove.
He made the much awaiting call during the celebration of this years’ Kundum festival on last Saturday September, 1, 2018.
According to Obrempong Hima Dekyi, Dixcove is lacking development due to the chieftaincy rift and he’s ready to make peace with Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX when he {Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX} shows willingness to do so.
“Am ready to make peace with Nana Kwesi Agyemang because the people of Dixcove deserves better and am ready when he shows up .
“He knows the entire 48 lands in this community belongs to me and am available to make peace whenever he comes to me”, he said.
