Former Asante Kotoko assistant tactician, Raphael Akakpo Patron is close to joining Skyy FC as new head coach.[ads2]
The Togolese retired footballer is joining the Daboase-based club as the new head coach following the departure of Johnson Smith.
Johnson Smith who joined Skyy FC before the start of the 2022/23 league season has agreed to return to Nations FC despite an incredible stay at the Daboase-based club.[ads3]
Skyy FC are in a hot competition with Nations FC for a ticket to the Ghana Premier League this season and will face up at the St Martin’s Park on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
According to sources, Akakpo Patron is expected to be in Daboase for the Nations FC game on Sunday.[ads4]
Akakpo Patron worked with Johnson Smith as assistant coaches at Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and share similar philosophy of all attacking game.
The former WAFA SC and Liberty Professionals coach has been deemed as a perfect replacement for Johnson Smith and the right option to continue the Skyy FC project.
Skyy FC currently lead the zone two league log with 41 points after 17 matches while Nations FC occupy the second spot with 36 points.[ads5]
