Staunch member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko has showered praises on President Akufo-Addo’s lawyer for the 2020 election petition hearing lawyer Akoto Ampaw.
Lawyer Akoto Ampaw continued cross-examining the NDC general Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia who is the first witness of the petitioner, at the Supreme Court hearing on Monday.[ads2]
Mr. Asiedu Nketia over the week has been in the witness box to answer questions on the election petition since he is the chief witness of the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama.
Many NPP caucus have applauded Lawyer Akoto Ampaw for charismatically cross-examing Johnson Asiedu Nketia.[ads3]
On his twitter page, Gabby Otchere-Darko who is the nephew of President Akufo-Addo has praised the astute legal practitioner during the cross examination.
He wrote that, “Akoto Ampaw did a professional job today at the Supreme Court. His questions were germaine, approach meticulous and elicited answers that were exhaustive in exposing the case of the petitioner as empty and of no material blow to the declaration of Dec 9, correction of Dec 10, etc.”[ads4]
Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to Tuesday, February 02, 2021 with the second witness of the petitioner, Dr. Michael Kpessa Whyte to be cross-examined by lawyers of the 1st and 2nd respondents (Electoral Commission and President Akufo-Addo) in the case before the Apex court.[ads5]
