The Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has urged President Akufo-Addo to resign should Ghana fail to qualify for the world cup in Qatar.

According to him, Ghana boast of enough talent to beat any other country to qualify for the prestigious tournament and must at cost be part of the qualified teams in Qatar next year.
“When he failed in 2018 we forgave him, this resit too he wants to fail, then it will better if he resigns,” Sammy Gyamfi said on Asempa FM, as quoted by Ghanaweb.[ads3]
“I know NPP sympathizers would agree with me that we have to qualify at all costs. How can a footballing nation like Ghana, Abedi Pele’s Ghana and we are struggling to qualify for the World Cup?
“No wonder when bad leaders govern the country, they suffer, but we are pleading with them to deliver.”
Ghana stands the chance of qualifying from the group stage of the qualifiers despite South Africa opening a three-point gap with one game left.[ads4]
The Black Stars currently boast of ten points, three adrift group leaders South Africa after five matches.
Ghana will have to beat South Africa in the last game of the qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 14, 2021 before securing a ticket to the knockout stage of the qualifiers.[ads5]
