Alexander Djiku, defender for Fenerbahce and Ghana Black Stars, has shared his incredible journey from growing up watching the Black Stars to becoming a vital member of the team.
After giving it some thought, Djiku, who was born in France, chose to represent Ghana internationally, and he has since established himself as a key member of the national team.
Djiku played a crucial role in helping the Black Stars qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, showcasing his defensive prowess during key matches.
Thanks to the 29-year-old’s impressive performances, Ghana defeated Mali and the Central African Republic during the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Djiku talked about his journey to the national team and how he first connected with the Black Stars when he watched them play in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He told FIFA,

“Sometimes I still find it hard to believe how I got here, but I don’t spend too much time thinking about it and try to enjoy every moment with the squad, because it truly is an honor to be part of the Black Stars.” He cooncluded,
