Ampem Darkoa Ladies have completed the double after a 3-1 win in the final of the Women’s FA Cup against Police Ladies at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday.
Police Ladies thumped Pearlpia Ladies in the first semifinal game to set up a date with Ampem Darkoa Ladies who secured an impressive 4-0 annihilation of Army Ladies to book a place in the final.
Mary Amponsah scored two extra time brace following a 1-1 draw in the regulation time to stretch Ampem Darkoa’s dominance in the women’s football locally after a 3-1 fulltime score.
The two teams played out a goalless draw game in the opening half of the game but served a goal apiece in the second half; Mary Berko opened the score cards before Ophelia Serwah Amponsah draw level for the holders.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies proved very dominant in the second half of the extra time and slotted in two goals courtesy Mary Amponsah.
It is the second FA Cup title for Ampem Darkoa Ladies to become the most successful Club in the competition.
