Ghanaian champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, missed out on the bronze medals after losing to AS FAR 2-0 in the third place match of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions
Even though the Ghanaian team defeated AS FAR 2-1 in the group stages, they were unable to do it this time in the third place game on Saturday night.
Mafia Nyame, an attacker from Ghana, set the tone for AS FAR’s victory in the 33rd minute by scoring the first goal. With a second goal in the 45th minute, Ghizlane Chebbak ended the chances of a comeback for the Ghanaian champions.
The second half saw quiet a few chances been created by both sides but neither of them found the back of the net.
Ampem Darkoa were unable to make unable to make a comeback therefore finishing the competition as 3rd runner ups.
The finals of 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium between Sporting Club Casablanca and Mamelodi Sundowns.
